1897 Victorian E.W&S Heavy Sterling Silver Albert Chain with 18ct Bolt 97gr.
An exceptional late Victorian Albert chain by E. Whitehouse & Son (E.W&S), hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897.
Substantial at 97 grams, the chain features beautifully graduated sterling silver curb links ranging from approximately 8.25mm to 12mm, giving it remarkable weight and presence while retaining the classic proportions of a Victorian Albert.
Finished with its silver dog clip and T-bar, plus a striking antique French 18ct gold bolt clasp weighing 2.8g, identified by the French eagle head hallmark.
The contrast between the heavy Victorian sterling silver and antique French gold hardware makes this an especially beautiful mixed-metal piece for wearing alone or styling with antique fobs, seals and pendants.
